From Walter "Smokey" Alston - '35 to its 30 Major League Baseball draft selections since 2000, the Miami Baseball tradition is a proud one built through the hard work and determination of all those who have donned the Red and White.
The Jay Hayden Baseball Center captures that tradition in the impressive Tom and Jan Hassfurther Reception Area and Toby K Schultz Heritage Hallway. It also advances that tradition, bringing together team facilities in one convenient location and making it easier for student-athletes to maximize the hard work that will raise the program on regional and national levels.
It creates a student-athlete focused venue with the new Ryan Brenner Locker Room and the expansive Tom and Jan Hassfurther Players Lounge, built for today's student-athlete;
It brings the program into a modern environment, creating the Peter and Betsy Mogk Head Coach's Suite, the Brenner Foundation Training Room and an equipment room - all connected to McKie Field at Hayden Park and the Lohnes Hitting Complex;
The Hassfurther Reception Area and Schultz Heritage Hallway capture Miami Baseball's history by celebrating the great players, coaches and championships that have defined the tradition.
Built through the private support of Miami Baseball's alumni and friends, the Jay Hayden Baseball Center includes a variety of naming and recognition opportunities while positioning Miami Baseball for its next great chapters.
