Precious had his best meet of the season in a 217-81 conference win at Ball State on Saturday. Precious tallied his first individual win of the season in the 100 back (53.22). He was also part of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:36.12) and recorded a runner-up finish in the 500 free (4:50.48).
This is the first time this season and in his career that Precious has been named Miami’s Male Athlete of the Week.
McCoy had another strong week for the RedHawks. She began with a double-double on Wednesday, her third of the season, in a win over Toledo, scoring 16 points to go with 10 boards. She followed that up with a career-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting against Buffalo on Saturday. She also collected seven boards. McCoy averaged 18.5 ppg and 8.5 rpg for the week.
This is the third time this season and fifth time in her career that McCoy has been named Miami’s Female Athlete of the Week. She last won it for the week of Jan. 1-7.
The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced on Monday, Feb. 19.
