OXFORD, Ohio - Leading each of their respective teams to wins over the weekend, redshirt junior quarterback Zac Dysert and senior field hockey midfielder Amanda Seeley have been named Miami’s Male and Female Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of Oct. 3-9.
Dysert (Ada, Ohio) led Miami to its first win of 2011 Saturday, as the RedHawks topped Army, 35-28, with Dysert scoring 21 unanswered points for the ‘Hawks to earn the win. On the day, he threw for a career-high four touchdowns and also ran in Miami’s other score. Seeley assisted on Emily Gruesser’s goal in the 49th minute on Wednesday against Ball State, and followed it up with a goal of her own on a penalty corner in the 53rd minute. She also notched the game-winning goal on Saturday against Missouri State, when her shot from the top of the circle was tipped high into the net by a Bear defender.
