COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Miami University swimming and diving team concluded the Ohio State Winter Invitational on Sunday.
The RedHawks made six appearances in A-finals.
Miami was strongest in the 200 back today. In the A-final, Maureen Sullivan took sixth (2:06.30) and Harrison Paul finished ninth (1:53.27). In the B-final, Meredith Applegate finished second (2:09.85), Sarah Heaven third (2:11.03) and Colleen McDermott fifth (2:14.36).
Sarah Wolanske was the lone RedHawk to compete in the 1650 free, touching sixth (17:35.62).
In the 200 IM, Wesley Fales (1:54.88) and Ana Maria Castellanos (2:09.94) finished sixth and seventh in the A-final, respectively. Applegate earned third place (2:10.85) and Hannah Wessel (2:12.61) earned fifth place in the B-final.
Castellanos and Wessel took eighth (2:23.61) and ninth (2:25.07), respectively, in the A-final for the 200 breast. Nicholas Haller finished second (2:06.66) in the B-final.
In the 50 free, Hanson touched the wall in eighth (22.10) with Paul (22.21) and Bowater (22.35) right behind him in the B-final. Michaela Mitchel finished ninth in the C-final (25.22).
The women’s MAC Championships will take place in Athens, Ohio from Wednesday, February 21 through Saturday, February 24. Miami hosts the men’s MAC Championships Wednesday, February 28 to Saturday, March 3.
