Lin Finishes Second at NCAA’s for Third Consecutive Year

INDIANAPOLIS – Miami University redshirt junior diver, Pei Lin placed second at the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships in the three-meter dive Friday night at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.

Lin was seeded fourth after preliminaries earlier Friday afternoon with a score of 347.25. This earned her a place in the finals where she tallied 383.50 points.

Minnesota’s Yu Zhou (392.75) won the three-meter event on Friday. Lin bested Stanford’s Kassidy Cook by 11.20 points.

Her top-eight finish makes Lin a First-Team All-American for the fifth time in her career, earning First-Team All-America honors in the three-meter dive in 2015 and 2016. She also earned it in the one-meter dive in 2016 and 2017.

In 2016, Lin placed second in this event with 399.40 points. In 2015, she did the same by accumulating 409.70 points.

Lin’s second-place finishes are the best finishes at an NCAA meet by a RedHawk women's swimmer or diver in program history.
