Miami University was saddened to learn Friday of the death of former RedHawks swimmer and life-long Red and White supporter Geoff Cross.

While at Miami, Cross broke Olympic Champion Bill Mulliken’s 200 breastroke school record. In addition to his 200 breastroke record, Cross finished his Miami career in the top three in 100 breastroke and 400 IM.  Cross helped lead the team to a MAC Championship in 1975 after finishing second in 1973 and 1974.

In 1977, Cross swam across the English Channel.

Hollie Bonewit-Cron, Head Swimming and Diving Coach

Geoff was a valuable member of Miami Swimming & Diving during his time with the program and his legacy will be remembered for generations to come. His contributions and achievements are an impressive example for our student-athletes within the RedHawk program.
