Baseball Places Program-Best Eight on Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND – A program-high eight RedHawks were recognized for their performance in the classroom when the Mid-American Conference released its annual baseball Academic All-MAC team on Friday.

Tyler Harris (Springdale, Ark./Shiloh Christian), Ryan Marske (LaGrange, Ill./Nazareth), Bailey Martin (Bryan, Ohio/Bryan), Steve Sada (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown), Hayden Senger (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East), Zach Spears (Greenfield, Ind./Mt. Vernon), Brooks Urich (Lone Tree, Colo./Regis Jesuit) and Adam Yacek (Austin, Texas/Lake Travis) were among those honored.

The Academic All-MAC recognition is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. Freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible for the honor.

All eight student-athletes are now eligible for the MAC's Distinguished Scholar Athlete award, which will be voted on by the MAC Faculty Athletic Reps at a later date.
