2018 Schedule

OXFORD, Ohio – Miami baseball head coach Danny Hayden announced the team’s 2018 schedule on Friday morning. The slate features 27 home games for the Red & White.

The ‘Hawks open their campaign at Arizona State (Feb. 16-18), where they will play a total of four games out in the desert. The team then travels to Buies Creek, N.C. to participate in the Campbell Invitational. There, they will battle Western Michigan (Feb. 23), Yale (Feb. 24) and Campbell (Feb. 25). Saturday against Yale will be a doubleheader.

Miami begins March with its home-opening series against Rider (March 2-4). The RedHawks then play host to Northern Kentucky for two games (March 9-10) before wrapping up the series at the Norse’s place (March 11). The team’s first midweek game is set to come at home against Dayton (March 13). Miami stays home for most of the weekend as it welcomes Xavier to town (March 16-17). Like the NKU series, the final game of the series will come on the road, so the Musketeers will play host to the RedHawks on March 18. MU keeps the local flavor going as it makes the quick trip to Cincinnati to battle the Bearcats on March 20.

The Red & White open Mid-American Conference play on the road at Eastern Michigan (March 23-25) before a midweek contest at Kentucky on March 28. Miami then opens the home portion of its conference schedule against Toledo (March 30-Apr. 1). The team remains home the next weekend to host Bowling Green (Apr. 6-8). As an even year, it is Miami’s turn to host the Joe Nuxhall Classic, which also features Xavier, Cincinnati and Wright State (Apr. 10-11). Following the eight-game homestand, the ‘Hawks hit the road for Ball State (Apr. 13-15) prior to a midweek face-off at Ohio State on Apr. 17. Miami then hits the road for the second-straight weekend to take on Northern Illinois (Apr. 20-22). The Red & White close their eight-game road stint with a midweek matchup at Butler on Apr. 25. The team closes the penultimate month of the regular season at home against rival Ohio (Apr. 27-29).

Miami opens May with a pair of midweek battles against Cincinnati (May 1) and at Dayton (May 2). The team then embarks on its final road series of the regular season when it heads to Western Michigan (May 4-6). The RedHawks close the regular season slate with seven-straight home games, starting with the final midweek contest of the year against Ball State (May 8). Miami welcomes Central Michigan (May 11-13) and Kent State (May 17-19) to Oxford to close out the regular season.

The MAC Tournament is set to be held from May 23-27 in Avon, Ohio at Sprenger Stadium.
