OXFORD, Ohio – Our final get-to-know you video for the staff features a man who really needs no introduction. Damon Frierson returns as the Assistant to the Head Coach this season. Nicknamed “Smooth”, Frierson is Miami’s fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,644 career points. A two-time All-MAC selection, he helped lead the RedHawks on their historic run to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament during his senior season in 1999.

In this video, Frierson talks with “The Voice of the RedHawks” Steve Baker about what brought him back to Oxford, how he hopes to reach out to his fellow alumni and how he can be a mentor to the current members of the team. The entire video can be seen above.

Starting next week, Baker sits down with all 14 members of the 2017-18 RedHawks to get their thoughts on the upcoming season. Those videos will be seen over the next couple of months.
