SCOUTING REPORT: As Miami's starter at the "X" position, coaches expect Chris to have his best season yet ... the emotional leader of the receiving corps is very mature for his age ... one of the strongest pass catchers, he had six consecutive dead lifts of 285 pounds in the weight room ... catches the ball well, then runs effectively afterwards ... when a deep ball is thrown, he kicks into a faster gear ... understands how to convert routes off of defensive looks ... coaches say what separates him from others is his hunger for knowledge ... finishes off defenders with sound blocking skills.

CAREER: He needs three more catches to reach the century mark for his career ... has accumulated 1,426 yards on his 97 grabs, needing only 20 catches and 155 more yards to reach Miami's top 10 in each category ... he's had two performances of 100 yards or more ... he has xx career TD catches.

2011: Started in Miami's opener at Missouri, catching 7 passes for 71 yards.

2010: His biggest single reception of the season came against Northern Illinois in the MAC Championship Game. A 31-yard reception after a tipped pass on fourth-down-and-20 set up Miami's game-winning touchdown ... his best statistical effort was at home vs. Kent State, catching five passes for 104 yards, including a season-long 44-yarder ... he had 26 receptions in 2010 for 385 yards, averaging a team-best 14.8 yards per catch ... caught at least one pass in 10 of the 11 games he played.

2009: Had season totals of 11 catches for 98 yards before suffering a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter of game two at Boise State.

2008: Appeared in all 12 games, starting nine ... caught at least one pass in every game but one contest ... his 513 receiving yards and 14.7 average topped all Miami players ... only Jamal Rogers had more catches than his 35 grabs ... scored at least one touchdown in six contests ... his best individual effort was nine catches for 85 yards and two TDs at Toledo ... ran back a blocked punt 60 yards in the season finale vs. Ohio.

2007: Played in all 13 RedHawk games, ranking as the team's fourth-leading pass catcher with 25 ... his 17.2 yards-per-catch average topped the list ... against Minnesota, became only the second true freshman receiver in Miami football history to crack the century mark for yardage (five catches for 112 yards) ... had receptions for 55 yards (at Minnesota), 40 yards (vs. Buffalo), 39 yards (vs. Cincinnati) and 34 yards (vs. Kent State).

HIGH SCHOOL: The two-time MVP at Chillicothe High hauled in 57 catches for 1,118 yards and 11 touchdowns his senior year ... earned First-Team All-Ohio honors in 2006 ... a two-time football MVP ... also competed in basketball and track.

PERSONAL: Born January 28, 1989 ... son of Nicholas and Debra Givens ... majoring in sport studies.
