OXFORD, Ohio (AP) Nate Davis threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Madaris Grant with 1:11 remaining to give Ball State a 20-17 win over Miami on Saturday.
Ball State (3-6, 3-3 Mid-American Conference) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on Terry Moss' 19-yard touchdown reception. Miami (1-8, 1-4) tied the game in the second when Ryne Robinson caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Mike Kokal.
Kokal scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth for Miami. He completed 19 of 34 passes for 205 yards and was intercepted once. Trevor Cook added a 20-yard field goal for the RedHawks.
Larry Bostic rushed for 85 yards on 16 carries, and Brian Jackson kicked field goals of 37 and 51 yards for Ball State.
Davis completed 11 of 24 passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns. He was intercepted once.
