CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Miami University's football team, along with the Mid-American Conference, announced its 2017 schedule on Wednesday, March 1. Miami's schedule is highlighted by six home games and a trip to Notre Dame.
Miami unlocks the season with three non-conference opponents. After opening the season at Marshall on Sept. 2, the RedHawks host Austin Peay (Sept. 9) and Cincinnati (Sept. 16). The contest with the Bearcats serves as Miami's Homecoming game and is the 122nd meeting between the two schools. The RedHawks begin conference play on Sept. 23 with a trip to Central Michigan before closing out the non-conference schedule at Notre Dame on Sept. 30. Following the contest with the Fighting Irish, Miami plays its next six games in the state of Ohio. On Oct. 7 Miami hosts Bowling Green during Family Weekend (more details can be found HERE). Other home contests include Buffalo (Oct. 21), Akron (Nov. 7) and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 15).
Additional road conference games include trips to Kent State (Oct. 14), Ohio (Oct. 31) and Ball State (Nov. 21).
The RedHawks return 17 starters from last season. After beginning the year 0-6, Miami rattled off six-straight wins en route to a MAC East Championship and a trip to the St. Petersburg Bowl. Overall, Miami returns 55 letterwinners from last season's team.
Season tickets are on sale now. For six home games, fans can purchase chairback seating for $125. Other prices include $105 (general public/bench) and $95 (faculty/staff/band parent). Miami is offering a Family Plan, which includes four season tickets (2 adults, 2 children) for $220, located on the East side of Yager Stadium. Tickets can be purchased HERE or by calling (513) 529-4295. A $5 handling fee is not included in the above pricing.
Miami begins spring practice on March 12 and will hold its Spring Showcase on April 22 at 1 p.m. inside Yager Stadium.
