BLUFFTON, S.C.- After finishing up the darkness delayed second round earlier in the day, the Miami University golf team shot a final round of even-par 288 to finish in a tie for second place at 29-over par. Iowa State won the tournament at 16-over par.
Individually, redshirt junior Brian Ohr earned his first career collegiate title on Tuesday. After concluding the second round with a 77, he improved by nine shots with a tournament low 68 in the final round to finish at one-under par overall. Just behind Ohr was freshman Charlie Nikitas, who finished the tournament at eight-over par after shooting a 78 in his final round.
Rounding out the Red and White were senior Patrick Flavin, freshman Jack Herceg, and sophomore Cam Solomon. Flavin shot a final round of 75 to tie Herceg for 31st at 14-over par. Herceg recovered from a second round 80 to shoot a final round score of even-par 72. Solomon finished with a one-over par 73 in his and was tied for 39th overall at 16-over par.
Playing as individuals, redshirt sophomore JD Fletcher and freshman Jack Mortell each shot a final round 77 to finish tied for 66th at 24-over par. Sophomore Jack Katarincic shot an 80 and was tied for 69th at 25-over par.
MU returns to action March 25th-26th as it competes in the Seahawk Intercollegiate.
