Flavin continued the amazing start to his season with his second victory in three tournaments. He finished nine-under par to win the Louisville Cardinal Challenge by two shots. It was his sixth career collegiate win. Flavin's efforts helped the RedHawks to a second place team finish, the second time in three tournaments that Miami has finished in the top 2.
This is the second time this season and ninth time in his career that Flavin has been named Miami’s Male Athlete of the Week. He last won it for the week of Sept. 4-10.
Passarella recorded her third shutout of the season against last season’s MAC-champion Kent State as the RedHawks won 1-0. Passarella recorded seven saves during the game, all in the second half of play. She faced twelve penalty corners during the game, nine of those coming during the second half.
This is the first time this season and in her career that Passarella has been named Miami’s Female Athlete of the Week.
The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced on Monday, Oct. 9.
