OXFORD, Ohio - With his college playing career wrapped up, Miami hockey senior forward Anthony Louis (Winfield, Ill./USANTDP (USHL)) is taking the next step on the ice.
Louis agreed to an entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, who drafted him in the sixth round (181st overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft. He is will report to the Blackhawks' AHL affiliate in Rockford to close out the season.
In his four-year career, Louis finished 20th in Miami history with 126 career points on 46 goals and 80 assists. As a senior, he led the RedHawks with a career-high 39 points on 14 goals and 25 assists with the goal total also representing a career best. Louis was a First-Team All-National Collegiate Hockey Conference selection and is a finalist for NCHC Forward of the Year.
Louis' 39 points this season ranked third in the NCHC. In his time in Oxford, he helped the RedHawks claim the NCHC Tournament title and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament during the 2014-15 campaign.
