Miami University's MIKE CARROLL, winner of two individual events and one relay race last Friday vs. Cincinnati, has been named Mid-American Men's Swimmer of the Week.
Miami and UC tied, 150-150, last Friday at MU's Nixon Aquatic Center.
The senior captain from Toledo's St. Francis DeSales High School won the 100 breaststroke by edging out a Cincinnati competitor with a time of 59.31. Carroll also captured the 200 breaststroke with a swim of 2:10.41, a second-and-a-half faster than the runner-up from UC. Carroll swam the second leg of Miami's first-place 200 medley relay team.
Miami's dual meet record is now 3-4-1. The RedHawks are ranked No. 23 in the Mid-Major national poll.
Miami's Kasey Carpenter (Sr., Cincinnati) was nominated for the women's award, but did not win the weekly honor.
Coach Pete Lindsay's men's swimming and diving team competes at Buffalo this Saturday at 1 p.m.
