Miami Men's Track Wraps Up Indoor Competition at Capital U. Ryan Dezso Ryan Dezso

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Miami University men's track and field team won Capital University's Rick Meindl Last Call Meet on Friday evening in Columbus, Ohio.

Miami's 227 points beat second place Muskingum College's 99.5 points with Wilmington College coming in third with 97.5 points.

Travis Brumm won the high jump, clearing 6-8, while Kevin Dwyer was third in the pole vault at 15-0.

Justinn Eddie, who won the 300-meter dash in 35.93, and Josh Rees finished 1-2 in the long jump with marks of 21-11 and 21-8, respectively.

Dan Beach was third in the shot put with a 47-11 throw, while Adam Ruiz came in fourth at 47-3 ¾. Jason Coniglio won the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.49 and took the 200-meter dash in 22.50.

Ryan Sottoway won the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.32, while Dan Hull took the 500-meter dash in 1:08.15. Cedric Diakabana finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.11.

Sam Cosgrove won the 1000-meters in 2:37.70, while Robbie Fisher was fourth in the mile at 4:32.76. Paul Krebs and Chris Dennison were 1-2 in the 5000 meters with times of 15:29.42 and 15:37.05.

The RedHawk 4X200 relay team was second with a time of 1:33.24. Ryan Dezso won the 3000-meter run in 9:12.09, winning by over 11 seconds.

The Miami men's track and field squad will next open their 2008 outdoor season when they host the Southern Ohio Cup on March 29.
