Twelve RedHawks Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Twelve members of the Miami soccer team garnered Academic All-Mid-American Conference recognition from the league office on Thursday morning.

Landing on the postseason team for their diligent work on the pitch and in the classroom are Jenny Barr (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North), Tori Christiansen (Naperville, Ill./Waubonsie Valley), Stephanie Dillon (Canton, Mich./Plymouth), Madison Knock (Avon, Ind./Avon), Vic Maniaci (Chesterfield, Mich./L’Anse Creuse North), Rachel Marble (Midland, Mich./Midland Dow), Bianca Medancic (Chesterland, Ohio/Hawken), Dana Miller (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South), Jenn Rowe (Waterloo, Onatrio/Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate), Ashley Weathers (Franklin, Tenn./Independence) and Jenna Weiner (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Stevenson).

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

Miami’s 12 Academic All-MAC selection are the third most in the league, trailing only Central Michigan’s 15 and Western Michigan’s 13.
