Boca Raton, Florida - An active week of two-a-day practices concludes for the Miami University women's swimming team Wednesday (Jan. 4) when it faces teams from James Madison and Keene State in a non-scoring meet at Saint Andrews Pool. The first event begins at 8:30 a.m.

Coach Dave Jenningssquad, currently ranked third among America's mid-major schools, uses the 10-day trip to Palm Beach County for reasons other than just conditioning and tuning up his team for the remainder of the 2011-12 season.

"It's always a great training trip and a time for our team to bond," said Jennings. "The upperclassmen get to know the freshmen and there's a better connection between the girls. We've got a solid team and if we can improve our times, we might be able to move up a notch or two at the MAC meet."

A total of 34 RedHawks, including seniors Chelsey Bruington, Lauren Wallace, Brittney Rohr, Kelsey Mallon and student coach Sarah Radke, accompanied Jennings to southern Florida.

Coach Jack Fabian's Keene State Owls are ranked among the nation's best Division III teams, while Coach Samantha Smith's JMUDukes are 9-2 in dual meet competition.

The 3-2 RedHawks, champions of their own Miami Invitational in December, host Cincinnati in Oxford on Jan. 13.
