Women's Swimming and Diving Compete Against Kenyon College and Eastern Michigan in Final Home Meets of the Season

The Miami women's swimming and diving team takes on Kenyon College at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1 and Eastern Michigan at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, in its final home meets of the 2007-2008 season. Saturday, February 2, marks Senior Day as seniors Kristen Bezier and Kathryn Stephens will swim their final meet at the Nixon Aquatic Center.

Bezier and Stephens were both named to the All-MAC Second Team and the All-MAC Academic Team a year ago. Bezier placed second in the 100 breast at the 2007 MAC meet with a career best time of 1:04.12. Stephens also posted a career best at the 2007 MAC meet, finishing runner up in the 100 fly with a time of 56.58.

Kenyon enters the meet with a 6-3 dual meet record. The Ladies dropped their last meet to Oakland University 154-138. Eastern Michigan enters this weekend with an 8-3 overall dual meet record. In their last contest, Eastern Michigan defeated Ball State, improving its MAC dual meet record to 4-2.

Last weekend, the RedHawks fell to the Bobcats of Ohio University, 114-186. Sophomore Karen Frazier won three individual events, but it wasn't enough as Miami dropped to 5-4 in overall duel meets and 2-2 in MAC dual meets this season.

Miami will hit the road for its last dual meet of the season when they face Ball State on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m.
