Senior Team Earns Second Straight Silver Medal at Mozart Cup

SALZBURG, Austria – Behind a season-best score in their free skate program, the Miami University senior synchronized skating team, representing Team USA, finished second overall in the senior division at the Mozart Cup on Saturday.

Performing to “Danse baccanale” by Samson and Dalila, the team had a clean free skate program, helping them to rack up a total segment score of 103.66. Coupled with its short program score from Friday, they earned a combined score of 155.8, helping to secure a second-straight silver medal at the event. Finland’s Marigold Ice Unity finished in first with a total segment score of 128.79. They also finished first overall. The complete free skate scores can be seen below.

The senior team’s next performance will come at the Miami hockey game on Friday, Jan. 27. The junior and collegiate teams are also performing next weekend as they travel to the Midwestern Championship in Grand Forks, N.D. That competition is set to run from Friday, Jan. 27 to Sunday, Jan. 29.
