GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Miami University junior and collegiate synchronized skating teams wrapped up their weekend at the Midwestern Championships with one performance each on Saturday. Highlighting day two’s action was the the collegiate team, who captured a first-place finish in their division.
With a total segment score of 74.00, the collegiate team topped six other squads in their division to come out on the winning end. The junior team capped off the weekend with another season-best performance by tallying a score of 93.38 in their free skate program. On Friday night, they posted a season-high score of 43.74. Both teams can be seen next at the Miami hockey series against Denver on Friday, Feb. 17, and Saturday, Feb. 18. The junior team will perform at Friday’s game while the collegiate team will skate on Saturday.
Between all three teams, next in action is the senior group as they head to Rouen, France, for the French Cup. The RedHawks will be leaving town Tuesday in order to prepare for the competition, which is set to run from Thursday to Saturday.
