RedHawks Make it 15 Straight With 3-1 Win at EMU
Miami University's volleyball team won its 15th straight contest with a 3-1 win this evening at Eastern Michigan. The RedHawks dominated the first two sets by a margin of 25-21 and 25-18. After dropping the third set 17-25, they rebounded nicely to secure the victory with a 25-21 fourth set win.

1982 AND DIANA FORD RECOGNITIONS: It's Alumnae Weekend and there will be two important presentations Saturday. It was recently discovered that the MAC recognized regular season results for 1982 after it was long believed that it did not start awarding regular season trophies until 1983. The records showed Miami, which had won the first two MAC tournaments in 1980 and 1981 were the '82 champs with an 8-0 record. They will be honored with a banner unveiling at intermission. In addition, Diana Ford, who was the second head coach in team history from 1976-78, will be recognized for all the contributions she had in building the program.

HISTORY FOR CONDIT?: Miami Head Coach Carolyn Condit stands on the verge of history entering the weekend. She comes into these matches with 599 wins at Miami and 698 wins for her career. She could potentially hit both the 600 and 700 win milestones with victories this weekend.

ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN: The Chippewas are 10-8 overall and 2-4 in the MAC. They split their matches last week, knocking off Eastern Michigan, 3-2, on the road on Thursday before coming home and losing in straight sets to Kent State on Saturday. Central Michigan is led by senior outside hitter Jordan Bueter. She has 281 kills, an average of 4.19 per set.

SERIES AGAINST CENTRAL MICHIGAN: Miami holds a 33-25-1 lead in the all-time series with Central Michigan. The RedHawks have won three straight against the Chippewas, including taking a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-19) win on Oct. 14, 2016 in Mt. Pleasant last season. Stela Kukoc led MU with 14 kills in that match, while Katie Tomasic put down 11.

ABOUT EASTERN MICHIGAN: The Eagles enter the weekend 10-12 overall and 2-4 in the MAC. They dropped a pair of five-set heartbreakers at home last week, falling to Central Michigan on Thursday and Ohio on Saturday. Eastern Michigan is led by a pair of outside hitters in junior Jordan Smith and freshman Franki Strefling. Each has 225 kills on the season, with Smith leading the Eagles by averaging 2.68 kills per set. Each of them is a six-rotation player as Smith averages 2.56 digs per set, while Strefling averages 2.54.

SERIES AGAINST EASTERN MICHIGAN: Miami holds a 39-14 lead in the all-time series with Eastern Michigan. The RedHawks have won five in a row against the Eagles, including a 3-1 (25-21, 25-18, 17-25, 25-21) win last season in Ypsilanti on Oct. 15, 2016. Tomasic led Miami with 13 kills, while Mackenzie Zielinski recorded a double-double with 26 assists and 11 digs.
