GSU Gets Past RedHawks In 10 Innings

Stephen Krause, Cole Andrews, and Cristian Tejada hit home runs for Miami. Ryan Starr came out of the bullpen to throw three scoreless innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the top of the first, JJ Woolwine led off with a walk. Andrews doubled, putting runners on second and third with one out for the visitors. Nick Neibauer then drove in Woolwine to put the RedHawks on the board.
- After Georgia Southern scored four runs in the bottom of the first, Dalton Back doubled down the left-field line, moving to third on a walk. Blake Buzzeo then drove in Back, cutting the deficit in half.
- In the top of the third, Neibauer singled. Tejada then homered to left-center field, tying the game back up.
- In the top of the fifth, trailing by four, Andrews hit a solo shot, cutting the Georgia Southern lead to three.
- In the top of the sixth, Buzzeo reached base on a walk. Woolwine then doubled down the right-field line, driving in Buzzeo and bringing the deficit back to two runs.
- In the top of the ninth, trailing by two, Benji Brokemond reached base on a hit by pitch. With two outs and a runner on first, Krause belted a home run to left-center field, tying the game for the 'Hawks.
- Georgia Southern's Jason Swan hit the game-deciding home run in the bottom of the 10th.
Miami Game Notes:
- Ryan Starr struck out five batters in relief.
- Andrews went 2-for-5 with a double and a home run.
- Krause went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer.
- William Escala went 2-for-5.
What's Next:
The RedHawks wrap up their series at Georgia Southern University Sunday, March 6. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
